An irreversible brain disease, Alzheimer’s progressively requires increased levels of care for those suffering from it. There are currently four drugs approved by the USDA for treating Alzheimer’s, which can improve or delay deterioration of cognitive function for a time, but there is no cure.

Resulting from the increasingly severe dementia related to the disease, Alzheimer’s patients eventually require constant attention from caregivers, often family members.

Training for dementia caregivers expands
